This is a nostalgia piece. Inspired by Edward Hopper, Elvis Presley, and lyrics. I've always felt that to get to know people you have to know their favorite songs. You have to learn the words. I've always found it intimate when someone tells you to listen to a song. They are giving you access to certain pieces of themselves.
I asked various of my family members to rank me their top ten favorite songs of all time. Once I had them I created textures in Photoshop and made them look like they were part of a jukebox. I threw my favorite songs as well. I decided to create this piece, lonesome.
As all things in life, we have to start with a Pinterest board.
Those are the rules, I don't make them. I simply implement them. And Pinterest is where all box dye hairstyles begin, and where I find my lighting references.
