Ideation, story blocking, and reference finding.
For my last quarter at SCAD I was very inspired to make a story about two robots.
I was drawn to the idea of, metaphorically, being lovable in the midst of a storm.
I feel that as we move through life and adquire experiences, we sometimes carry notions about
ourselves that aren't true. One could be, that we are not lovable or likeable because of our flaws
or because of what we've been through.
Afterlove, is an ode to the realisation that even through the wildest most devastating storms,
we are lovable.
Afterlove is the story of two robots holding each other as they watch the apocalypse
unfold in front of them.
Week 1:
I was very excited to do this project with my friend Jake Diana. I wonderful compositor and friend.
After pitching him my story and concept, he was on board. This was our pitch:

WEEK 2
Putting it together, and troubleshooting.
Using our sketch, Jake and I designed the set for Afterlove. Using assets from TurboSquid and Quixel Megascans we were able to put our scene together.
Both of our robots were rigged in Mixamo and brough into Maya.
Tip for future self: If two rigs are being imported into Maya, re-name the first rig so it doesn't get
replaced by the first rig.
To do a camera shake, we parented the camera to a nurb curb and used expressions, as shown below, to create movement. We also easied in and out are camera in the animation tab.

I UV'd the robots and started lighting and using placeholder shaders for them.

THINGS I LEARNED:
This week I learned how to use opacity maps in the hypershade to create the shape of the plants and not use too much geometry.
