TRACKING / GRADING
After the feedback we received last week, my responsibility for this week was color grading and also camera tracking.
Both tasks challenged me in different ways, I will first talk about color grading.
Our first shot had different exposures as the camera pans to right. I tried troubleshooting it in Nuke, but the keyers were too harsh on the footage. They made it grainy and overall too saturated.
Color Grading
I decided to do it in DaVinci.
Watching different tutorials, which I will link below, and also with the help of Camilo, I learned about dynamic keyframes.
Dynamic keyframes allow for the exposure of the shot to remain similar constant throughout the shot. I followed the steps of fixing exposure, balancing black and whites, and adding additional colors.
Tutorials I followed:
1. How to Animate Grades With Keyframes
2. Masking In Color Tab \ Tracking, Tips, Tricks and More \ Davinci Resolve 17
3. KEYFRAMES in the COLOR PAGE | DaVinci Resolve 16 Tutorial

Learned how to work the nodes in DaVinci.
Camera Tracking
For the first shot, the main issue that I ran into was not having enough parllaz in the scene to create a ground floor.

Asking around I got some tracking tips but I also got suggested that our team may need to go back out and reshoot our plate.
For our second shot, because it is a still camera, I created the geometry by using planar projections and by matching the camera position to the geometry.
